Once Upon A Time returns to television screens on Sunday with season 6. Fans are eager to see Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz) join Storybrooke, a town filled with fairytale characters.
“We learn very quickly that Aladdin was once a savior, just like Emma. There is a direct connection between what Aladdin went through in our version of the tale, and what Emma goes through in her story,” said show creator Adam Horowitz, talking to TV Guide.
In a sneak peek, Jasmin (Karen David) and Aladdin are seen together. But for fans, it may not be the happy story they remember from the nostalgic Disney film.
There is speculation that the two characters may not find their happily ever after. Once Upon A Time season 6 premiere episode is titled “The Savior.”
According to ABC, Emma will develop, “a mysterious side effect, and Storybrooke becomes a haven for refugees from the Land of Untold Stories,” as quoted by TV Series Finale.
Aladdin turns out to be a savior just like the show’s main hero Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison). Once Upon A Time creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis teased that the opening scene of the new season’s storyline is darker.
The co-creators agreed that Aladdin’s downtrodden state when fans first meet him is a warning sign for what is to come for Emma. The duo said that fans need to be worried.
Kitsis teased that Emma’s ultimate villain is coming back in a big way this season. Meanwhile, about Robin Hood’s (Sean Maguire) character, though some fans are expecting him to return, Kitsis said “dead is dead,” ET Online reports.
In Once Upon A Time season 6, Rumple (Robert Carlyle) tries to get Belle (Emilie de Ravin) out of the sleeping spell. He manages to rescue his wife from the spell; however, Morpheus (Giles Matthey) is introduced to the storyline. The Greek god of dreams will help out Rumbelle, TV Line reports.
Once Upon a Time premieres Sunday on ABC.
