Uncharted 4 Will Make XBox Users Switch To PS4
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is probably the most anticipated title in the history of video games. And if Sony’s newly released trailer is anything to go by, gamers are in for an absolute treat.Advertisement
Of course, the game will be a Sony exclusive for the PS4. So, what about the XBox users? Will they be forced to invest in a PS4 just to play the final chapter of the acclaimed Uncharted series? For those who played the first three editions, it’s been a five-year long wait following Uncharted 3 which was released in 2011. Going by initial reports and videos, Uncharted 4 will live up to the hype.
On Wednesday, Sony released a new story trailer which offered a few rough ideas of the nature of the adventure in store for Nathan Drake. It’s suffice to say that a masterpiece awaits PS4 users. Nothing on the console has looked this good, graphically, at least, and there has never been a game title with as much console-selling potential. All those Xbox users might be tempted to jump ship.
Uncharted 4: The Plot
All those old protagonists, namely Victor ‘Sully’ Sullivan, Sam Drake and Elena Fisher, are all still very much around. However, Drake is married now. Sully, Drake’s father figure, looks a lot older. (Watch Trailer Below)
There are two, new interesting antagonists, namely Rafe Adler and Nadine Ross. Adler, Ross and their mercenaries attempt to stop Drake and his elder brother, Sam, from retrieving a pirate artefact from a mythical private colony in Madagascar. Nadine, portrayed by American actress Laura Bailey, is of South African decent and is the owner of a PMC called Shoreline, which supplies weapons.
The trademark high-octane action sequences are still very much around. However, the game seems to focus more on characters and storylines – which isn’t a bad thing. One observer, who has already played the game, reports that Drake’s character taps into a darker side.
Drake’s globe-trotting journey…
Here’s a description from Sony: “Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter Nathan Drake is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure.
“His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.”
Sony is determined to providing a fitting farewell to arguably the greatest exclusive game series in history. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End releases on April 26. Are you ready?
