Jon Jones, the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal that he was expecting to make a comeback to the octagon in the near future.

Jones was to main event UFC 200 against Daniel Cormier before committing an anti-doping violation which forced the promoters to make last-minute changes to the pay-per-view.

“How’s it going ‘Bones’ Jones supporters, if there are any of you guys still out there. I wanted to take a few seconds to say hello to you all and give you an update on how I’ve been doing,” Jones addressed fans in a video post.

“I’ve been really good. Training, spending time with family, attacking some of these legal issues I’ve gotten myself into and trying to leave all that stuff behind once and for all,” added Jones.

Jon Jones cleared by USADA?

The 29-year-old fighter said his team was fully cooperating with the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) which conducts round-the-clock drug testing in the UFC and other combat sports.

“I’m sure you guys are curious on what’s been going on with this USADA situation. Obviously I can’t say anything because it’s still pending. But, what I can say is that we have found out lots of really good news and I’m expecting to be back in the Octagon really soon.”

Do note that Jones’ Instagram account was switched to private soon after the video post. Is that to avoid any repercussions? The USADA has clearly stated in the past that athletes under investigation are not allowed to reveal details to the media.

Brock Lesnar, a former heavyweight champion, is also under the scrutiny of the USADA for an alleged failed drug test before his bout against Mark Jones at UFC 200.

Jon Jones was first flagged after a random drug test on June 16, just few days before UFC 200. Since then, both the UFC and Jones have been mum on the investigation.
