While some apps are dropping support for Windows 10 mobile, like Here Maps, some apps are adding support for Microsoft’s operating system. On desktop, the apps are already available in the Windows Store. Now, Twitter For Windows 10 mobile has finally been launched.


Twitter for Windows 10 mobile launch was announced on Windows Blog. Angela Jam, Product Designer at Twitter, in the announcement post wrote, “Today we’re excited to share an update to Twitter for Windows 10. Now alongside the Twitter app on desktop and tablets, you can experience Twitter for Windows 10 on mobile phones! As a designer at Twitter, I worked closely with our engineering and product teams to bring this experience to Windows 10 Mobile.”

With the app on your Windows 10 phone, you can now:

  1. Experience Moments
  2. Send group direct messages
  3. Edit, Shoot and Tweet videos with the help of your camera
  4. Share Tweets
  5. Add commentary with Quote Tweet
  6. Follow conversations
  7. Check top tweets without signing in

Along with the abovementioned features, Twitter for Windows 10 mobile is also bringing along users’ favorite – the Dark Theme. You can get the theme by going to Settings and then Personalization. Angela Jam also mentioned, that while bringing the app to Microsoft’s mobile phones, the company “carefully considered each section” of the social networking site.

They also researched how the UI translated from tablets and desktops. The result? The study showed that 90% of the user interface and interaction models could be shared to mobile from tablets and desktops.

In the post, the product designer at Twitter also mentioned that Windows 10 phone users can expect more changes and improvements for the app in the future.
