Runkeeper has updated its iOS app on Thursday and it now supports Apple Watch.

The company in its update release notes mentioned, “you can run without your phone and still track with Runkeeper.” Having said that, a watch is a watch and will always have its own restrictions.

Runkeeper will give you most of the details it provides you on the iPhone like:

i. How long you have run
ii. How far have you run
iii. Your pace and heart rate

Yes, watches have become smart but they still do not have all the features that smartphones have. As GPS has not yet come to the Apple Watch, or for that matter, to any smartwatch in the market, you will unfortunately not be able to track your route on the map while running.

To cover that up, Runkeeper has brought an exciting feature to the Apple Watch. Runkeeper 6.2 will offer post-run music analytics to the joggers. It will tell you which song gave you a boost and which did not. You can also see which songs your friends are playing while jogging so that you can try them as well. Music streaming apps like SpotifyRunkeeper DJ and iTunes currently support this feature. Runkeeper v6.2 is now available in the App Store for downloading.
