Toshiba Unveils the company’s New Chromebook 2 Laptop

toshiba chromebook2 launch Toshiba Unveils the companys New Chromebook 2 LaptopToshiba has officially announced the company’s second generation Chromebook dubbed simply as the Chromebook 2.


“Our hardware design is evolving alongside Chrome OS. The Toshiba Chromebook 2 has the right mix of features and performance to make it a standout device in the category,” said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division. “We designed our new Chromebooks for both the consumer and education markets, focusing on key experience-driving features that cross boundaries – a great screen, awesome audio and a stylish, thin and light design for greater portability.”

The new Chromebook 2 features a simple slim & compact design with a silver textured resin lid that houses the notebook’s 13-inch display that comes available in two variants – a standard HD display and a full HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. It is powered by the latest Intel Celeron processor, 2 or 4GB of RAM, and a battery life of up to 11.5 hours on the HD display model and up to 9 hours on the premium full HD model. The Chromebook 2 is also equipped with the latest 802.11ac wireless connectivity.

Other essential features that come with the Chromebook 2 include an HD webcam, one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, an HDMI output port, an SD Card slot, dual-array microphones, and a standard security lock. Additionally, the Chromebook 2’s audio output system, which is composed of two front-facing stereo speakers, was tuned by audio expeters at Skullcandy.

The new Toshiba Chromebook 2 laptops will be available in the US starting October 5 at price ranges from $249.99 to $329.99. Toshiba will also make available color cases for the Chromebook 2 in Charcoal, Aqua, and Rose.
