What's This?

The Toronto Raptors just didn’t have enough firepower to outlast the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2016 Eastern Conference Finals. Imagine what that series could have been had Kenneth Faried played for the Canada-based squad.

The Denver Nuggets want every team to know that they are actively shopping Faried. The Manimal is worth $38 million in the next three years. His energetic style of play might be what the Raptors need to at least pose a real threat to King James’ reign.

Tim Hart of Nugg Love indicated that the Raptors have solid starters, except at the power forward spot. Patrick Patterson helps the team on the offensive end, but he isn’t an elite rebounder. Faried is a hustle guy who would provide extra possessions for Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and DeMarre Carroll.

The Nuggets have a collection of young big man who eagerly await more playing time. Moving Faried would free up minutes for Nikola Jokic, Jusuf Nurkic, Joffrey Lauvergne and Juan Hernangomez. Not only that, the Nuggets would most likely get Terrence Ross in the trade.

Patterson would merely be an auxiliary piece in the Faried swap. The Nuggets don’t have an immediate need for his services. The team could continue to shop him around until they find the right veteran play maker to teach Kentucky stud Jamal Murray the ins and outs of the NBA.

A move to the Nuggets might be the change of scenery Ross needs. He is unable to truly blossom into a superstar in Toronto as he shares positions with DeRozan and DeMarre Carroll. In a recent talk with Basketball Insider, the 6-foot-7 combo wing said he will be more physical and assertive on the court this upcoming season.

“I want to continue to get stronger and be able to absorb contact better when I’m driving. I’ve been shooting a lot of mid-range shots too,” Ross revealed. “I’m just learning how to read defenses and make the best play possible when I’m out there.”

Those are exactly the words the Nuggets front office want to hear. A trade with the Raptors would turn the Nuggets into a well-rounded team.
