Wildfire in Arizona burns through site of 2013 tragedy that killed 19 firefighters


A wildfire blazed through almost 600 acres in central Arizona on Wednesday, as reported by Reuters. As a result, almost 250 residents were forced to evacuate their homes on the east and west side of Yarnell. While three buildings have been damaged by the wildfire, there have been no reports of any injuries. As many as 100 firefighters are fighting the blaze. The fire occurred near the site of the 2013 fire that killed 19 firefighters.

Responding to domestic disturbance, police shoot dog at wrong house

A dog was shot by a deputy in Southern California who was responding to a domestic disturbance complaint but had arrived at the wrong house, as reported by USA Today. When the deputy and his colleague arrived, they alerted any animals in the house; after which two dogs came charging at them. The deputy fired at the animal, but realized after speaking with someone from the house that they had the wrong location.

7-month-old boy, 3-year-old girl found dead in Miramar home, foul play suspected

Foul play is being suspected in the deaths of two children whose bodies were discovered inside a Miramar house on Wednesday, as reported by NBC News. The children, a 7-month-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, were pronounced dead on the scene.

While there is foul play suspected, the investigation is going. Upon their arrival, police found one of the children’s parents and a relative outside the home who led them towards the apartments at the back.

Bristol Palin, daughter of Sarah Palin, and U.S. Marine Dakota Meyer have tied the knot, as reported by Reuters. Palin had announced her engagement on March 2015 and said the couple were looking to get married in a matter of months. However, the wedding was called off on May 2015. Meyer received the Medal of Honor in 2011 for saving the lives of his comrades in Afghanistan in 2009.

Carrie Underwood bagged the Performance of the Year and Female Video of the Year awards at the 2016 CMT Music Awards, as reported by People. With 16 trophies to her name, Underwood has won the most number of awards in the history of the show. She lost the award for Video of the Year to Tim McGraw.
