Yes, we know you can’t get enough of them, and we can’t either. To celebrate Friday, here are the top ten tweets from the remaining U.S. presidential candidates that can make you go WTF.
Number 10: Bernie Sanders
“The reason that our campaign is doing well is that we are doing something unusual in American politics: we are telling the truth.”
To which one responded, “You just told a lie.”
Number 9: John Kasich
“John Kasich is in there somewhere…”
The Republican presidential candidate had spent some time in NYC during the week. Among the things he enjoyed was a deli sandwich.
Number 8: Donald Trump
“I was not scheduled to be on the @oreillyfactor. Pure fiction!”
Number 7: Ted Cruz
” This election is about jobs and raising wages for working Americans who corrupt Washington has been leaving behind.”
Number 6: Donald Trump
“Ted Cruz attacked New Yorkers and New York values- we don’t forget!”
The post came with a link to a video on Instagram of Cruz saying, “Everyone understands that the values in New York City focus around money and the media.” In response, Trump’s camp came up with a slogan that stated, “New York values are American values”
Number 5: Ted Cruz
“See who @realDonaldTrump donated to here”
According to Cruz’s campaign, his Republican presidential rival Donald Trump had helped a number of “the most liberal Democrat officers” get elected. In fact, Cruz’s camp alleges that he has given as much as $138,000 to the Democratic party over a period of several decades. Moreover, Trump was also said to have given $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation in the past, with some saying the amount was actually more close to $250,000.
At the same time, Trump was also said to have contributed to Hillary Clinton’s senate and presidential campaigns in the past.
On the other hand, Cruz’s camp also noted that Trump had given $56,000 to convicted felon Alan Hevesi and has also made a donation to former Speaker of the New York State Assembly Sheldon Silver who is now facing 130 years in prison on charges of corruption.
Number 4: John Kasich
“NEW AD up in New York: “One choice to stop the Clinton political machine — it’s John Kasich.”
Kasich currently ranks last among the three remaining Republican presidential candidates, so a showdown between him and Clinton is looking quite unlikely.
Number 3: Hillary Clinton
“There’s only one candidate in this race with more votes than Donald Trump.”
The popularity votes are in and Clinton leads with 9,351,849 votes. Meanwhile, Trump only has 8,197,535 and Sanders, 6,946,679.
Number 2: Donald Trump
“Wow, @Politico is in total disarray with almost everybody quitting. Goodnews — bad, dishonest journalists!”
Number 1: Donald Trump
“Cruz is hated in New York. He should go home – no place for a phony”
