Tom Holland To Be The Next Spider-Man
Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have at last completed the search for the next Peter Parker, the Spider-Man, its movie set to release on July 28, 2017. Tom Holland, a 19-year-old British, will play the role, and he is the youngest to get his feet into the shoes of Spider-Man.
Tom Holland, the next Spider-Man, is not a popular household name like previous incarnations for Spider-Man: Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire. He had his share of fortune when he appeared for a role in “The Impossible” where he played an Indian Ocean Tsunami survivor of 2004. Holland was at the center of it. He also appeared in TV series “Wolf Hall.”
Holland may not be a popular face but his acting is strong enough to impress the casting crew.
Holland is not very different from a teenage boy of his age and casting him as a teenage superhero can do wonders. He uses social media like Twitter, and Instagram, and he is fond of flipping. Business insider news suggests that the boy is fond of his dog Tessa.
According to CNN Money report, Amy Pascal, the producer, said, “Sony, Marvel, Kevin and I all knew that for Peter Parker, we had to find a vibrant, talented young actor capable of embodying one of the most well-known characters in the world. With Tom, we’ve found the perfect actor to bring Spider-Man’s story into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
Apart from announcing the star for the next Spider-Man movie, Sony and Marvel also announced that the movie will be directed by Jon Watts. The Spider-Man franchise brought in $4 billion worldwide and is one of the biggest in the world. Fingers are crossed to know what wonder the young Spider-Man can do this time.
