There is no question that Tim Tebow is one of the high profile personalities right now. In fact, it is one of the reasons seen by most on why he was given the chance to try out for a spot on Major League Baseball.
But for the ones who have closely followed Tebow, his fame grew because of football. He did most of that in college and a bit of it in the NFL. Things didn’t turn out well on his pro football aspirations, something that disappointed in general.
Tim Tebow: Respect Worth More Than $1 million Endorsement Deal
If there is one thing that Tebow can brag about is that he cannot be bought easily. He shares shunning a $1 million endorsement deal offered as he was trying to secure a spot with the New England Patriots.
Tebow recalls a one-time commercial deal that came his way, one worth $1 million. Seeing how earning that big pay in one day is a rarity, Tebow passed on it out of respect to Pats coach Bill Belichick.
Tebow consulted the deal with Belichick and the latter told him that he preferred he pass up deal and avoid a media circus, Sports Illustrated reported. Out of respect for Belichick, Tebow shunned the offer but eventually found himself unfit to be with the team. Was it a regret for “Tebowtime”?
No Regrets, Purely Respect
Understandably, that would have been something any ordinary person would regret. But for a guy like Tim Tebow who is not easily swayed by the zeroes on paychecks, he says that it is something he would do all over again if ever.
Right now, the same scenario could be happening in the MLB though it is more about passion than the money. Tebow may not make it big in baseball but one thing that cannot be easily bought are his principles, USA Today reported.
