With Thompson allegedly having a key role in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok, it has been said that Natalie Portman (who portrayed Jane Foster) will not be reprising her role in Marvel’s third installment.
A source claimed to Deadline, “Thompson’s role in Thor: Ragnarok will be a kind of superhero and will appear in other Marvel films as well. And also, Thompson is a regular opposite Anthony Hopkins on HBO’s drama series Westworld, which resumed production this week.”
The Thor sequel also stars the likes of Tom Hiddleston as Loki, American actress Jamie Alexander as Sif, and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. Cate Blanchett is set to play a villain.
As reported by Slash Film, when Ruffalo pitched in an indefinite plot of Thor: Ragnarok, he stated, “I think they’ll probably fight.
“There’s no doubt, everyone wants us to fight at one point.”
“Thor: Ragnarok” is set to hit cinemas on October 2017.
However, as stated by The Hollywood Reporter, actresses Natalie and Tessa were arranged to fill in Alex Garland’s follow-up to”Ex Machina,” which is “Annihilation.”
In addition, Thompson’s credits include portraying Bianca in “Creed.” She also played a civil rights activist in the film “Selma.” She portrayed Samantha White in “Dear White People,” and she was Nyla Adrose in “For Colored Girls.”
