The Walking Dead season 7 will be featuring a number of comic book characters for the fans who have been waiting to see for entire series.
Apart from Negan, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who had an explosive start in the show, earlier this year in the divisive season 6, it will feature the debut of the leader Ezekiel, played by Khary Payton, and his Kingdom with his beloved tiger named Shiva alongside.
Screenrant says, that fans have started to think beyond Ezekiel and Negan, and are looking forward to the other iconic comic book characters that have the possibility to be introduced on the show in the next few seasons of “The Walking Dead“.
According to sources, Robert Kirkman, the creator of the show, could feature in the more terrifying group of comic villains namely, The Whisperers. However, this might depend on the success of the upcoming seasons.
Kirkman briefly spoke at the New York Comic-Con today, on how the show might just introduce The Whisperers. “Probably, eventually…As long as we don’t get cancelled it should. I can’t wait to see Andrew Lincoln saying ‘Now we gotta worry about the Whispererererers’…I think about some dark stuff.”- he said.
In the comic books, after Negan and Rick, as survivors put an end to the All Out War, it is then, when we find the introduction of the Whisperers. The Whisperers could have a visual angle and would be an exciting addition to the linup of villains in the show.
A lot is left in the timeline of the series till the Whisperers are introduced. For now, the fans have been preoccupied with mystery victim of Negan, although it’s Kirkmans’ comment at the panel puts the fans in a curious position.
“The Walking Dead“ season 7 premieres 23rd October on AMC at 9p.m.
