As “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 would already be its last run, will the team behind the show finally listen to the fans’ clamor to have Nina Dobrev return as Elena?
With barely three months before its new season premieres on The CW, a number of fans have already been wondering if the 27-year-old actress will be coming back as Elena Gilbert or Katherine Pierce, her doppelganger.
It can be recalled that the actress was not part of the seventh season of the supernatural drama series, hence, its followers are hoping that they will finally see her in the upcoming episodes, considering the TV show will end soon.
Will the showrunners listen, please?
Speaking at the San Diego Comic Con, showrunner Julie Plec announced that the “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 will already be the final leg of the series, Mirror UK reported.
“This is going to be the final season. … It’s bittersweet and emotional and we’re going to be crying about this in a few minutes,” the executive producer dished. “You guys stuck with us.”
She noted, though, that “The greatest honor you can have as a storyteller in the business of television is to be able to make those decisions with your peers and your fellow storytellers and we have all discussed it and we have made the decision that this is it.”
In the meantime, Plec, together with fellow executive producer Kevin Williamson and stars Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Kat Graham, Candice King, Zach Roerig, Matt Davis and Michael Malarkey teased about several “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 spoilers that every fan must look forward to.
According to TV Line, they have disclosed that the “evil” will be back in the upcoming episodes.
“This season, get ready to meet evil herself,” an intro video, which was featured along with the famous creepy hand from the final episode of the seventh season, stated.
As with Williamson, he assured fans that a great “The Vampire Diaries” season 8 has been planned out.
