The sex scenes between Alexander Skarsgard and Margot Robbie in “The Legend of Tarzan” must have been very wild and “animalistic” that the actor got injured.

In an interview with “Closer” magazine, as shared by Daily Mail UK, the 39-year-old actor revealed how he got hurt while filming their “raunchy” sex scenes.

“Even though I’m fighting apes, the only injury I got was from a sex scene with Margot – she hit me!” he narrated. “Our director David Yates wanted our sex scene to be really animalistic, so he was behind the camera saying things like, ‘Hit him harder! Come on!’”

Alexander Skarsgard, who plays the title role in “The Legend of Tarzan,” continued by saying “He kind of egged us on and wanted to feel very primal, so she beat me up!”

With the fact that Tarzan and Jane “must be drawn to each other,” they needed to act naturally for the viewers to feel it, the actor dished that it was not hard after all to deliver since Robbie is “so charming!”

Meanwhile, the film’s director validated Alexander Skarsgard’s story.

“They’re doing this love scene together, and I said [to Margot], ‘’Just slap Alex while you’re making love, just kind of give him a punch,’” Yates said about such scene in “The Legend of Tarzan.”

“It was sort of an earthy, sensual moment of her enjoying sex with Alex, and the only bruise he picked up during the entire shoot was probably that punch from Margot,” the director added. “Which says a lot about her feistiness.”

In the meantime, Comic Book Movie reported that the film’s newly-released poster speaks of “a new spin” that Yates must have given to the classic Greystoke tale.

Aside from Alexander Skarsgard and Robbie, “The Legend of Tarzan,” which is showing on July 8, also stars Djimon Hounsou as Chief Mbonga, Samuel L. Jackson as George Washington Williams, and Christoph Waltz as the villainous Captain Leon Rom.
