Team USA Olympics 2016: Rio 2016 is almost here. The opening ceremony is on Friday night and the games kick off this weekend.
The 555-member Team USA contingent has been in Brazil for over a week preparing for the games. In the process, they have given us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into their personal lives via social media platform Instagram.
Here are three Team USA athletes to follow on Instagram:
Serena Williams: The living legend would try to win her fifth Gold Medal. Previously, she won the doubles event with sister Venus in Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008. She dominated in 2012 London while winning both the doubles and singles events.
Michael Phelps: The ace swimmer, arguably the most decorated Olympian in history, would be the flag bearer for Team USA during Friday’s opening ceremony. In Beijing 2008, Phelps became the first athlete in history to win eight gold medals at the same Olympic games. In 2012 London, he added to his legacy by increasing his total medal tally to 22, including 18 gold medals. Phelps is looking to set more records in Rio.
