Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood Creates Vevo Record, Surges Past Minaj’s Anaconda
Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” has created a new Vevo record, getting 20.1 million views in only 24 hours.
The music video, which also features Selena Gomez, Lena Dunham, Hailee Steinfeld, Cara Delevingne, Jessica Alba, Cindy Crawford, Ellen Pompeo and Mariska Hargitay, was first shown at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday after its huge social media hype.
“Bad Blood” is the fourth video from Swift’s widely popular album, “1989.” The previous three were “Shake it Off,” “Style” and “Blank Space.”
The previous record belonged to Nicki Minaj, who had had received 19.6 million views in 2014 for “Anaconda.” According to Mashable, some of the other record holders include Miley Cyrus for “Wrecking Ball” and “We Can’t Stop,” One Direction for “Best Song Ever,” and Justin Beiber for “Beauty and the Beat.”
It has also been noted that 11 of Swift’s videos – “You Belong With Me,” “Mine,” “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” “Everything Has Changed,” “Mean,” “Love Story,” “22,” “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space” and “Style” – have received more than 10 million views individually.
Swift expressed her gratitude to the people associated with the video on social media.
Not long ago, Taylor Swift bagged eight trophies at the Billboard Music Awards, including Top Female Artist. Some of the categories where she won were Billboard Chart Achievement Award (Fan-voted), Top Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist and Top Hot 100 Artist.
With the massive popularity and success of “Bad Blood,” Swift earned the top spot in the Billboard Artist 100 (dated May 30). She is followed by Maroon 5 and Wiz Khalifa at second and third positions respectively.
