SurveyMonkey CEO Goldberg Dies After Collapsing In Gym
CEO of SurveyMonkey David Goldberg died on Friday after collapsing in a gym. The husband of Facebook executive Sheryl Sandberg was exercising at a resort in Mexico when he suffered a massive injury on his head. Then and there, he collapsed.
Goldberg was on a vacation with his family and friends. Upon finding him, they tried to revive him but failed. His funeral service will take place in Silicon Valley on Tuesday.
Goldberg died after he suffered a severe head trauma in the Mexican town of Punta Mita. He was found lying next to a treadmill in a pool of blood.
Family members confirmed his death on Saturday but refused to divulge the cause of his death, which led to widespread assumption.
According to Mexican officials, Goldberg left his room around 4 p.m. to exercise. When he did not return after a certain amount of time, family members went to search for him.
It is speculated that Goldberg might have slipped on the treadmill. He died at a hospital in Nuevo Vallarta.
In 2004, Goldberg married Sheryl Sandberg, chief operating officer of Facebook.
