What's This?

‘Supernatural’ is well on its way toward its 12th season after season 11 revealed the Winchesters’ mother to be very much alive. With showrunner Jeremy Carver leaving for another show, it seems the upcoming season will offer a fresh new look at the series with new showrunners, new developments, and new villains?

According to BuddyTV, the resurrection of Mary Winchester in the finale will have huge implications for Sam and Dean considering that the series started with her death. Bringing her back to life will definitely change everything since her death was the catalyst that turned her children into supernatural junkies for 11 seasons.

After the finale ended with Amara being stopped from destroying the world by making her realize that family is the most important thing, everything seems to be going smoothly. Dean is alive; Amara is finally reunited with her brother and even facilitated a reunion between mother and son.

Unfortunately, it’s not as smooth as everyone thought, unknown to the team, the Men of Letters has had enough of the Winchesters’ shenanigans putting the world in danger. We are then introduced to Lady Antonia “Toni” Bevell, a member of their London branch who then goes to the U.S.

She is ordered to apprehend the brothers and after Sam refused and, in the great ‘Supernatural‘ tradition, shot him. Although he most likely survived, this scene hints that the Men of Letters are potential villains in the upcoming season.

The implications to the show should the Men of Letters be the antagonists are enormous. For starters, this means Sam and Dean can go rouge and that fans can finally really get to know the organization that the brothers are a member of are working for.
