‘Supernatural’ Season 12 Cancelled: TV Show Running For Too Long With Low Ratings?
Supernatural season 12 is slated to premiere on The CW on October 13, 2016, but there are already rumors that this might be the last season of the entire franchise. The next season is going to be more emotionally driven than it has been for so long, and it would begin with Mary Winchester entering the brother’s lives.Advertisement
Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles have been running the show for over a decade with their wit and humor. It is to be seen whether Season 12 will live up to expectations amid speculation that it might be cancelled.
Although many find Season 11 to be the best in the history of the franchise so far, according to the makers, Supernatural season 12 will have a different flavor altogether. It will explore the depths of the individual characters. But that still doesn’t convince many.
“Both Jared and Jensen are having a blast, and as long as they have a blast, it’s a great thing,” CW head Mark Pedowitz was quoted as saying by Den of Geek at the Television Critics Association winter press tour in January.
He added, “If they can keep delivering stories, and the numbers keep holding, and the guys want to do it, we’re going to try to keep going.
“I can’t tell you if there will be a season 12 yet. I can’t tell you if there will be a season 15 yet. I can’t tell you if it won’t outlast my tenure at the CW. My guess is it will outlast me.”
There are also rumors that the upcoming season will be the last one, and this raised concerns among the fans that this will be the final time they will be seeing Padalecki and Ackles slay monsters and save people. According to a report by Movie News Guide, there are rumors of a reshoot, change in the synopsis, and a time leap. There are chances of a spin-off as well.
