The producers of “Supergirl” have confirmed to bring back a fan favorite on the show’s upcoming season. Actress Calista Flockhart will be reprising her role as Cat Grant and will be appearing in various episodes of season 2.


The DC TV series was earlier revived by CW after its downfall under CBS. Due to its changes, the production of the TV show was moved to Vancouver.

There were speculations that Calista Flockhart won’t be a recurring guest star anymore in Supergirl due to the changes in location. However, at the San Diego Comic-con, it was confirmed that the actress will be returning for her role in the next season.

According to Comic Book, Producer Andrew Kreisberg said that, “Supergirl wouldn’t be Supergirl without the amazing Calista Flockhart as Cat Grant.  We are so excited Calista has agreed to continue on the show when she can. We and the audience love to see her on screen,”

By far, the production studio has revealed some details on its plans for the upcoming season. It has already been confirmed by CW President Mark Pedowtiz that “Supergirl” would soon have a big crossover with “Arrow,” “The Flash” and “Legends of Tomorrow.”

But that’s not it. It was also confirmed at San Diego Comic-con by Producer Marc Guggenheim that Supergirl will be the main character in the crossover.

The CW has successfully produced crossover episodes previously with “The Flash” and Arrow. Furthermore, the cancelled series Constantine played by Matt Ryan has also appeared as a guest star.

While Calista Flockhart will be part of the show again, it looks like her role won’t be regular in the TV series. The season 2 first episode of Supergirl has been scheduled to release on October 10th, premiered on The CW.
