“Suicide Squad” is yet to be released this summer. Jared Leto makes sure he will do his role as Joker justice by practicing his creepy laughs, even in the busy streets of New York!

The 44-year-old actor revealed that he made an experiment in the streets of New York and in Toronto to know which laugh he should perform in “Suicide Squad” that is so creepy it will freak out people from the streets.

“I worked on the laugh walking around the streets of New York and Toronto, and I kinda would walk around the streets and see what laughs would get under people’s skin,” Jared Leto told CNBC’s Squawk Box, as reported by Screen Rant.

“You know when you hear someone laugh at a restaurant? It’s a little jarring. I tried them out,” he said. “And I kind of got to a place where I would laugh and people are always turning around like, ‘Who is this creepy guy behind me?’” he added.

According to Variety, the American actor has been taking on his role as the iconic Joker for quite some time even outside of filming. He even gifted “Suicide Squad” cast member Margot Robbie a live rat while they were filming “Suicide Squad.” He also sent his co-stars used condoms, anal beads, and dead hog, clearly showing that he is in full character.

In the Cinema Con in Las Vegas, Jared Leto described Joker as a terrifying, psychopathic, and  a disturbed character.

Screen Rant meanwhile noted that Jared Leto, who has already making news about his “over indulgence” on method acting while filming “Suicide Squad” should also wow fans on his performance to at least match Heath Ledger’s portrayal of The Clown Prince of Crime in “The Dark Knight.”

Also included in the “Suicide Squad” cast are Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deathshot, Cara Delevingne as the Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and more, Games Radar said.

“Suicide Squad” will premiere on August 5.
