Fans will be delighted with Capcom’s ‘why wait till E3’ attitude, as the developers just confirmed the release of Street Fighter 5 DLC, which is expected to come out this month. The DLC will be a story expansion, providing 3-4 hours of new gameplay.
New Street Fighter 5 Characters introduced in DLC
Capcom has titled the DLC as “A Shadow Falls,” making it a free downloadable content for all Street Fighter 5 players. Furthermore, gamers will be allowed to access all six DLC characters in the story mode. “In addition to Alex, Guile, and Ibuki, that means that Balrog, Urien, and Juri are also playable,” Capcom said in a recent blog post.
Things get more interesting, as Balrog, Urien and Juri will not be officially released until the end of this year. Fortunately, the DLC will be providing us early access to the new characters.
According to the statement, it is also the first time in franchise history that Capcom has introduced a cinematic story concept to their expansion.
Gamers must take note on the changes that have occurred in the in-game currency system. According to GameSpot, Capcom had plans of introducing a currency called Zenny, which must be purchased from the store to be used in the game. However, the developers have dropped the plan and confirmed actual currency will be used for purchases across PlayStation Store and Steam. The real currency pricing and fight money details are available on this link.
Players will also be able to earn fight money, as they progress in the completion of story mode. The feature allows players to unlock the next level of difficulty after going past the normal mode.
