‘Star Wars: Episode VIII’ Starts Filming
On Monday, Lucasfilm and Disney released the first production trailer for the forthcoming “Star Wars: Episode VIII.” And the production companies made a public declaration that filming of the picture is underway at Pinewood Studios outside London.Advertisement
CNN claims that the video doesn’t unleash any obvious piece of information; however, the video focuses on the character Rey meeting up with Luke Skywalker at the final part of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Star Wars reports that Star Wars: Episode VIII is penned and helmed by Rian Johnson and goes by the storylines introduced in The Force Awakens. The upcoming flick welcomes back cast members Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, and Andy Serkis.
Star Wars: Episode VIII’s new cast members will include Golden Globe Award winner Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and talented newcomer San Diego native and UCLA grad Kelly Marie Tran.
Entertainment Weekly states how the studio announced the upcoming film, “Rey took her first steps into a larger world in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and will continue her epic journey with Finn, Poe, and Luke Skywalker in the next chapter of the continuing Star Wars saga, Star Wars: Episode VIII, which began principal photography at Pinewood Studios in London on Feb. 15, 2016.”
Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman produced Star Wars: Episode VIII and got on board J.J. Abrams, Jason McGatlin, and Tom Karnowski as executive producers. And some of the industry’s top talents will join the production crew, including Steve Yedlin as Director of Photography, Bob Ducsay as Editor, Rick Heinrichs as Production Designer, Peter Swords King for Hair and Make-Up, and Mary Vernieu as Casting Director.
Star Wars: Episode VIII is slated for release in December 15, 2017.
