While some fans think that Princess Leia just had a limited screen time in “The Force Awakens,” that would no longer be the case in Star Wars 8, the latest spoilers have suggested.
The character, as portrayed by Carrie Fisher, only appeared in a few scenes in the last installment of the “Star Wars” film series, as its plot focused on the introduction of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and her journey, along with Kylo Ren’s (Adam Driver) dark rule.
However, the upcoming eighth episode of the movie is said to be presenting more about the mother of the dark warrior.
According to the Star Wars 8 spoilers of BGR, the love interest of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) is expected to get major screen time, as hinted by an announcement.
The New York Comic Con revealed in its Instagram account that Carrie Fisher could only attend the show on Sunday since she will be filming some scenes for the upcoming “Star Wars” episode.
Following this, the entertainment site surmised that her character, who is also known as General Leia Organa, could be seen more when the film premieres by Dec. 15, 2017.
It was explained in the most recent Star Wars 8 spoilers that this is a huge possibility because of three reasons: Han Solo is dead; their son has turned into a “terrifying villain;” and her brother Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is still lost.
Amid these things, the report noted, though, that the filming announcement might just mean that the actress is “simply reshooting” some scenes.
In the meantime, Lupita Nyong’o debunked claims that her role as Maz Kanata has already been axed from the project.
While guesting on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the 33-year-old Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress 2013 winner admitted about being hurt by such rumor, Entertainment Weekly reported.
“I don’t know where this rumor came from!” she said in this yet another set of Star Wars 8 spoilers. “I have no idea. It hurt my feelings.”
