What's This?

Since the official announcement of the highly anticipated “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” rumors about the plot has been filling the air. The first teaser trailer of The Force Awakens that appeared on YouTube late last year only fueled speculations and left fans wanting for more.

Since then, there have been many rumors and speculations about the film and by summing them up you can actually reach a plot that is confusing at the least. The new Star Wars trailer has been able to stir up more speculations rather than putting an end to them.

Star Was Episode 7 trailer 3 opens with a scene where a lightsaber is being activated and passed from hand to hand. This one is the lightsaber of Anakin, inherited by Luke and finally lost on Bespin. Then we land at an arid desert with a lone speeder moving across, leaving trails of dust. We know from the first teaser that the speeder is driven by Rey.

As the speeder moves, we see the remains of an Imperial Star Destroyer in the background. The scene portrays the remnants of the Battle of Jakku fought between the Rebel Alliance and the Empire. Now we see a few shots: a rider on a low flying vehicle, Poe Dameron in that red and white suit holding up in the cockpit, and then X-Wings flying over the water. According to the concept art, this is the combat craft of Resistance forces.

Then comes the burned and battered helmet of Darth Vader in the picture while Luke Skywalker’s voice chimes in the background, “The Force is strong in my family.” As the line continues we are shown glimpses of a battleship, another look at the new Stormtroopers, a ship under attack, Boyega in stormtrooper attire. Then Kylo Ren pitched in swinging his “broadsaber.” The hooded Luke places a hand on R2-D2. Then there are our heroes Rey, Finn and BB-8 running away from an explosion. The trailer ends with Chewbacca and Han Solo, saying “We’re home.”

To know more about it we have to wait till December 18 when “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” hits the silver screen.
