It said that starting January 31, the new handset would officially be put up for sale online. It would hit major retail stores nationwide about a week later, or beginning February 7.

The new device would cost $299.99, on top of tax and other surcharges. It would also come with a new two-year subscription contract. For those who would place pre-orders for the G Flex from now until January 31 through the network, a Quickwindow Folio Case would be given for free. The accessory usually costs $59.99.

In a statement, Sprint vice president of product David Owens said the new G Flex would combine in a single device many exciting features to complement Sprint’s services. He added that customers would surely appreciate the device’s ergonomic design to provide comfort.

LG G Flex would also facilitate an ideal mobile cinematic experience that is expected to make movie enthusiasts rejoice. Owens added that with the numerous Android apps that are available for download, G Flex would be superb if it combines the Sprint Spark service and the new Framily Plan bundles. He said the pair would be ideal especially for the modern multitasking and multimedia dependent lifestyles.

The G Flex

LG unveiled the G Flex last week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, although that introduction was already anticipated. The company said the new device would be launched to the market this first quarter of the year through AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint. With this latest announcement, Sprint has become the first of those carriers to announce a launch date with pricing details. It is also the first to take pre-orders for the phablet.

The G Flex is curved from its top to bottom. It has 6-inch display with resolution of 1,280 X 720 pixels. It comes with 2Gb RAM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, and a 13-megapixel rear camera (with a 2.1-megapixel front-facing one).
