Earlier this month, an image revealed that the nine time nominee “SpongeBob Squarepants” has been cancelled from being aired on Nickelodeon. Furthermore, Memes also began to sensationalize the news, causing chaos all over the internet.
The “SpongeBob Squarepants” TV series began airing in 1999 on Nickelodeon. For 17 years the show’s program creators have managed to receive mass appreciation for keeping the animated series alive.
As the rumor lead to more emotional outcry in Twitter and other social media platform, Snopes decided to breakdown the image claiming the show’s cancellation. Fortunately, the odds weren’t against us.
It was confirmed by the rumor shattering website Snopes that the image claiming the termination of the show was a hoax. Furthermore, the memes were just means of aid to grow the outreach of the fabricated image.
Snopes were also able to point out the rumor with official confirmation from Nickelodeon representative. However, it wasn’t enough to pressures the fake news. The credible report unfortunately failed to reach every “SpongeBob Squarepants” fans. Fortunately, Nickelodeon decided to step in to clear the unnecessary chaos among their audience.
Nickelodeon tweeted from their official channel stating that there’s “Breaking News”. The tweet went on that “October 17th is nothing more than a Monday.” Fans can check it out below.
The rumors also led fans to believe that “SpongeBob Squarepants” season 10 and 11 were scrapped off. However, IMDb has confirmed that season 10’s first episode titled “Whirlybrains” was said to have been aired on October 15th this year.
