It looks like Tom Holland’s take on “Spider-Man: Homecoming” can finally grab Tobey Maguire’s title as the best “friendly neighborhood” superhero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Since Jon Watts began shooting the reboot, fans have been thrilled by leaked and official set images shared online.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Marvel has wrapped up filming “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” As the studio begins working on post-production for the movie, fans started to expect official clips and images from Marvel Studios.
Recently, an image shared on Reddit started to gain traction among MCU fans. The photo looks like Tom Holland in the Spider-Man suit posing a selfie from the top of a building.
The photo was officially posted by EW. Unfortunately, it isn’t a scene from “Spider-Man: Homecoming.” Moreover, it’s not Tom Holland in the suit as well.
Fans on Reddit were quick to realize that the image does not show the real Spider-Man. Furthermore, users on the forum clarified that the person in the image is a cosplayer.
The image was used by EW in an article discussing the “50 Most Powerful Superheroes.” Fans can check out the image here.
So far, fans have only come across images of Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Peter Parker. Although the studio has wrapped up filming, Marvel Studios hasn’t publicly released their first teaser trailer yet.
“Spider-Man: Homecoming” will be released on July 7, 2017. There have been hints that Spider-Man will be having a cameo in “Thor: Ragnarok.” However, it has not been confirmed yet.
Robert Downey Jr. will be having a cameo as well. However, it is not yet revealed if he would appear only as Tony Stark or also as Iron Man.
