Google is busy preparing for the release of the Android Nougat update, but several manufacturers are still catching up to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Take Sony for example; the company has started seeding the Android Marshmallow update to devices like the Xperia M4 Aqua, M4 Aqua Dual, and the Xperia M5.
Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow Update for Xperia
It’s always a given that when Google releases an Android operating system update, it would take a while for manufacturers like Sony to catch up. According to experts, the problem lies with fragmentation and different specifications of Android devices; it takes time for companies to align the code to their offerings.
Companies like Samsung also include other features and enhancements in the firmware update which could slow down or set back the update schedules.
Fortunately, these companies are not stopping to update their units. As Android Nougat approaches, the pressure is on for them to catch up. The same is true with Sony as it prepares the Xperia M4 Aqua, M4 Aqua Dual, and the Xperia M5 units for the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update.
According to Geeky Gadgets, the Android update for Sony Xperia M5 offers a range of new features. The software is made available through build number 30.2.A.0.100 and over-the-air or OTA update. People can wait for the prompt on their devices to start updating.
Xperia M4 Aqua, M4 Aqua Dual Update
As for the Xperia M4 Aqua and M4 Aqua Dual, the same Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware update is now available for the devices. Users can expect the update through the new build number 26.3.A.0.131. It is available to nearly all variants of the Xperia M4 Aqua and through selected regions.
People will have to confirm with their carriers if the update is available, as schedules could vary. On the downside, Xperia Blog reported that users have confirmed there is no adaptable storage, so they should stay tuned for other developments.
