The rumor is in the nascent stage, and it will take some more time before it is confirmed. According to speculations, the purported device might offer dual SIM cards and feature MediaTek chipset.
Although the recent leaked images are creating a lot of buzz, there were earlier hints of a new phone, dubbed Xperia C6, during the Mobile World Congress in February. However, the news fizzled out with the announcement of a brand new Xperia X series instead, reports GSM Arena.
This might draw your attention to the new Xperia C6, allegedly sporting a mixed design of last year’s Xperia C5 Ultra and Xperia XA. The front-facing flash is the uniqueness of the device that will coax many selfie lovers to buy the phone. However, we are not sure whether the device will ever see the light of the day, according to the company blog.
Sony is has miles to go before it fully adopts Apple’s premium-only strategy. If anything that you may call “premium” right now is Sony’s Xperia C series that comprises of mid-range devices with front-facing flash and uncommon features. The last in the “C” series, the C5 Ultra, was launched in August 2015.
Since then, the rumored C6 has been out of talks, but today’s leaked reports bring the phone back to the radar. Although the source of leaked reports did not mention elaborately about the phone, we can pretty much assume that it will be a good-looking handset with a great front camera, states Phone Arena.
