Sony Announces New 4K Bravia TV Line-Up, 4K Media Player, and 4K Content Options

sony 4k braviatv mediaplayer content Sony Announces New 4K Bravia TV Line Up, 4K Media Player, and 4K Content OptionsSony has officially unveiled details of the company’s upcoming BRAVIA 4K Ultra HD TV line-up which was previously announced at CES as well as a new 4K media player and a slew of new 4K content options.


“We continue to be the only company that offers a complete line-up of consumer 4K products, including TVs, front projectors, cameras and camcorders, while also leading the industry in providing 4K content. Sony’s new 4K Ultra HD TVs, 4K media player and new 4K content offerings continue to strengthen our growing ecosystem,” said Mike Fasulo, president at Sony Electronics. “We strongly believe 4K is the future for entertainment and we remain committed to leading the 4K movement, from lens to living room, in a way that only a company like Sony can.”

Sony’s new line-up of BRAVIA 4K Ultra HD TVs, which are now available for pre-sale and will be available in June, consist of three new series with three models per series for a total of 9 new televisions.

The flagship XBR-X950B series will be sold at an SRP of $7,999 for the 65-inch and $24,999 for the 85-inch model.

The mid-range XBR-X900B series will be available at an SRP of $3,999, $4,999 and $8,999 for the 55-inch, 65-inch, and 79-inch model respectively.

Lastly, the entry-level XBR-X850B series, which will be available in 49-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 70-inch screen sizes for $2,099, $2,999, $3,999, and $5,499 respectively.

All of Sony’s BRAVIA 4K Ultra HD TV models are equipped with the company’s 4K X Reality™ PRO picture engine, TRILUMINOS™ displays, X-tended Dynamic Range PRO technology, and ClearAudio+ digital signal processing. Sony’s new BRAVIA 4K Ultra HD TV models also feature Sony’s Playstation Now service where users can play video games through direct streaming to the TVs.

Sony has also announced their new 4K Ultra HD Media Player, the FMP-X10. The new player comes with 1TB of internal storage and features support for TRILUMINOS™ Color. The FMP-X10 4k Ultra HD Media Player will let users download video content from Video Unlimited™ 4K, stream 4K content from Netflix® and  is compatible with any of Sony’s 4K Ultra HD TVs.

With Sony’s new TVs and media player, they’re also announcing a variety of new 4K content sources including the aforementioned Video Unlimited 4K. Video Unlimited 4K has over 200 titles available. Sony is also making users of their new 4K Ultra HD TVs able to access new 4K content from Netflix.
