Shannen Doherty has taken a bold change amid her breast cancer battle.

Documenting the change that she was about to embrace, the 45-year-old former “Beverly Hills 90210” star appeared emotional as her mother hugged her tightly in one of the six black-and-white snaps that captured the process.

Armed with a razor as she stood infront of a mirror, the actress, who also starred in “Charmed,” started the change she was talking about on Wednesday.

According to Us Weekly, Shannen Doherty must have shaved off her hair by herself at home, although in one image, she was seen with her friend Anne Marie Kortright.

Prior to posting her photos without her hair on Instagram, she first shared an image with the caption, “Cupcake pan, chocolates and a razor…. Stay tuned. @annemkortright has got this. #cancersucks #thankgodforfriends.”

Amid her cancer battle, ABC News reported that her model friend Anne Kortright-Shilstat took to Instagram to show support to Shannen Doherty.

“I couldn’t be prouder of you today. Your strength and courage is so inspiring and I am so very lucky to have you in my life,” she posted. “Thank you for blindly trusting me today to help you with such a big step.”

Back in February, Dr. Mehmet Oz of “The Dr. Oz Show” announced that the “90210” alum was about to make a huge decision – to have her breast cancer removed surgically, Entertainment Tonight shared.

With such decision, the medical professional pointed out that the doctors can save the life of Shannen Doherty if treatment will be done aggressively.

“She had to come to grips with the fear — sometimes that fear has paralyzed her over the past year,” Dr. Oz stated, hinting that he incredibly admires her strength and courage.

It can be recalled that early this year, Shannen Doherty declared that she loves her life and her husband even more that losing her breasts can surely be considered as part of her treatment.

My family’s been personally touched by Breast Cancer. I have an aunt who has it now and my nephew lost his 36 year old mother to the disease. She was uninsured. I’ve taken proactive steps in my own life to try and live the healthiest life possible by working out and cutting out alcohol. Eating right is also a must. I’ve also stopped the usage of Aluminum in my deodorant. Aluminum stops perspiration and the release of toxins from the body. I now use Granny’s Natural Deodorant with is Aluminum, Paraben and GMO free. However there is no silver bullet. My heart goes out to all the women suffering from the disease. Stay strong.
