‘Serial’ Season 2 To Dig Into The Case Of Bowe Bergdahl
“Serial” season 2 is about to premiere this fall and the speculation has already started about its plot. According to the latest reports, season 2 will be based on the case of Bowe Bergdahl. He is the U.S. soldier who was captured by Talibans in 2009 and was later freed in 2014.
The hearing of the case is still on and Sarah Koenig, the host of the show, was spotted in the hearing of the case in San Antonio, Texas. Other members of the show were also spotted in the hearing and it can be well assumed that they were there to catch ripe material for the show.
The investigative show will try to answer unsolved questions relating to the case and we may get a deeper insight of the same. “Serial” was previously focusing on Adnan Syed, who is currently serving for killing his high-school ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. Koenig was serious about the case and had testimonies from different witnesses which were not considered by the court.
Haqqani network, a Taliban-allied guerilla insurgent group, held Bowe Bergdahi prisoner for five years before he was released in exchange of five Guantanamo Bay detainees in May 2014. According to Bowe, he was intentionally walking off his outpost when he was kidnapped. His goal was to draw attention to the condition.
The other soldiers have a different story to tell about Bowe. He was charged with both desertion and misbehavior charge before the enemy, and if found guilty, he can be put for life sentence. Walking out was not too honorable, according to other soldiers.
We can just wait and watch Sarah Koenig take on Bergadhi’s case as “Serial” season 2 gears up for television.
