What could be that one thing common to Selena Gomez, Serena Williams and Ronda Rousey?
As revealed by Page Six, these three celebrities all have an upcoming project with Lifetime. In the recently unveiled list of new projects that the TV network is embarking on from 2016 until 2017, it was learned that the A+E Networks subsidiary is cooking an autobiographical scripted series for the 23-year-old “Good For You” singer and movies for the 34-year-old tennis champion and 29-year-old mixed martial artist.
Accordingly, the project for the former girlfriend of Justin Bieber will talk about her life, based on how her friends see her, especially when her career started to blossom until she became popular as an artist.
It can be recalled that Selena Gomez used to be part of the children’s show “Barney & Friends” before landing a singing career. While there has been no identified writer yet to pen her life story, it was already revealed that its executive producers include Kevin Spacey, Mandy Teefey, Dana Brunetti, Samantha Droke and Troy Searer.
On the other hand, Serena Williams is producing “Sister Dance,” patterned after her dance-off with her sister Venus Williams, while Ronda Rousey is expected to appear in three movies about women empowerment.
Other projects in the pipeline are “Queenie,” a movie about a 1920s female gangster, “The Michelle Story,” Sony Pictures TV production about the 1990s R&B star who got romantically with Dr. Dre before, and the one with “Vampire Diaries” writer Holly Brix that talks about a group of strangers brought together by a puppet monster.
In the meantime, Rolling Stone dished that the former Disney Channel star’s project with Lifetime will drive inputs from her “inner circle” such as besties Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato, to introduce who she really is.
It was further disclosed that the still untitled project of Selena Gomez came after she announced that she is interested to go into executive producing a series for Freeform.
