Selena Gomez is fighting a battle against lupus. As she scored her first top five hit with the track “Good for You” from her second solo studio album “Revival,” Gomez talked about the reason behind her publicized trip to rehab on January 2014.
UPDATE: According to IBTimes, the GQ article must have wrongly quoted the singer actress. Fans got immediately worried that Gomez is suffering from both lupus ans leukemia after the report came out when in fact she might have said she needed to go to different locations for chemotherapy.
Selena told GQ what encouraged her to check in the Meadows rehab facility in Arizona. The singer said, “First off, this is something that everyone always wants to fixate on. I got diagnosed with lupus. My mom had a very public miscarriage. So I had to cancel my tour.” She then said, “I needed time to just be okay. And I was going through leukemia.”
The “Come And Get It” singer said she was frustrated going into two different locations for treatments. The singer also said she felt awful, knowing people were fascinated by her past rather than her future.
Selena also told GQ magazine her reaction to the comment made by A$AP Rocky of her in her Billboard cover story. It can be remembered that the American hip-hop recording artist said that Selena is developing her sexiness, but she isn’t at the peak of it yet.
When Selena read A$AP Rocky’s comment for the first time, she replied, “Yeah, well, I mean, I don’t know.” She explained, “I just think that’s kind of who he is. And I mean, I made him feel like he has a right to kind of have his own opinion. What am I going to say?”
