After Daredevil and Jessica Jones, it looks like Luke Cage will be the next hit series for Marvel. Netflix released the official teaser trailer on Thursday, giving fans a glimpse at Mike Colter’s strength.
The 1:28 minute footage shows a short fight sequence of Mike Colter against couple of thugs in a hall way. Check out the video below.
The Marvel superhero first appeared as Cage in Jessica Jones. Since then, fans have been aching for its release. The series will be releasing its first season on September 30. A concept art of Luke Cage also surfaced last week.
Initially, there were doubts whether the series will be a success. However, Mike Colter’s recurring role in Jessica Jones gained him a sizable fan base. Users on Twitter are already considering the upcoming series to be a major competition for Daredevil.
The official synopsis serves as an origin story for the series. “After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city–forcing him to confront a past he had tried to bury.”
Before the panel concluded, Marvel’s Luke Cage cast were available for signing. Furthermore, Marheshala Ali, Simone Missic, Frank Whaley and Theo Rossi also shared some important details on their fictional character during their interview. Check it out below.
In other TV series announcements, Marvel has also released a poster for Iron Fist. The SDCC attendees were also able to experience exclusive footage from Iron Fist screened during the panel. Fortunately, Netflix has finally given the go for the public release as well.
