Shonda Rhimes’ “Scandal” has been rumored to have a crossover with another drama “How To Get Away With Murder” since last year. Could this mean ABC is now gearing up for this major move?
There has not been any confirmation about the rumored crossover, but one thing’s for sure; “Scandal” season 6 will not be seen this fall due to its lead cast Kerry Washington’s pregnancy.
The actress, who plays as Olivia Pope in the political drama series, is expecting her second child which means “Scandal” season 6 will have its release date by 2017, according to HNGN.
TV Line previously hinted that Shonda Rhimes and company may not want to include Olivia Pope being pregnant. It can be recalled that Kerry Washington had lesser screen time in Season 3 when she was pregnant with her first baby.
Meanwhile, while Shondaland fans are waiting for the “Scandal” season 6 release date next year and the crossover updates with “How To Get Away With Murder,” they can turn their attention to Shonda Rhimes’ latest line-up for Thursday.
“Notorious,” will be starred by Daniel Sunjata who will play as defense attorney Jake Gregorian, and Piper Perabo, as TV producer Julia George.
Romper said that lead character Julia resembles “Scandal” character Olivia Pope with her no nonsense attitude and “the same level of moral ambiguity.”
This series’ follows the story of the two who will attempt to control the media and justice system while uncovering lies, betrayals, and questions, Romper said in a report.
“Notorious” is shown at 9 pm on ABC.
