Samsung Officially Gives Out Gear S2 Smartwatch Details
Samsung’s most talked-about Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch’s details are finally out. A teaser was released during the Galaxy Note 5 launch event, then Mr. Dennis Miloseski, the studio head of Samsung Design America, released a picture of the watch on Instagram. Though the company never kept the watch away from people, it kept its features a secret.
And now, a little before the IFA trade show, the company revealed some of the features of Gear S2:
Display: 1.2-inch Super AMOLED 360-by-360 display
Storage: 4GB internal memory with 512MB of RAM
Processor: 1GHz dual-core processor
This water and dust resistant smartwatch from Samsung will be available in two options – Gear S2 and Gear S2 classic.
“The Samsung Gear S2 reflects Samsung’s most progressive innovation. It is the perfect complement for any occasion, easily taking you from day to night, from work to workout – and ensuring that you get more out of every moment in your day, by making it smarter and ultimately more personal and fun,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of Samsung’s IT and Mobile Business, in a press release related to the Gear S2.
The company claims that its 250mAh Li-ion battery will not drain the watch for at least two to three days. Samsung Gear S2 will also support Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The company first claims the watch to be the “first ever e-SIM with voice capability.”
Though the pricing of the watch is still not known, major network providers like T-Mobile, Verizon and AT&T have confirmed that they will be carrying this smartwatch. Let us see when this smartwatch becomes available for sale and if it can beat other smartwatches in the market.
