Samsung Gear S2 Classic Edition To Go on Sale In The Global Market; Available For $520 Pre-order Price In Europe
If you cannot afford the expensive Apple rose gold smartwatch, buy a gold smartwatch from Samsung. This latest attractive piece of smart-wearable from the South Korean electronics company will soon go on sale in the global market. The Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch is part of the company’s ‘Classic’ edition and is already available in China.Advertisement
The announcement came this Monday when Samsung launched an 18K rose gold watch that boasts a white leather strap. Samsung has not yet confirmed the price and availability of the watch, but the gold and platinum variant of the Gear S2 is available for pre-order for $520 in Europe.
Apple’s gold smartwatch is heavily priced around $17,000 dollars, while the gold Samsung Gear S2 is relatively more affordable. The reason for huge price difference is the purity of metals used for manufacturing them. Apple uses solid gold for its watch edition, while Samsung’s gold is plating on top of a stainless steel body, reports The Verge.
Android Authority reports that the Gear S2 is powered by Samsung’s own Tizen operating system. The watch is praised for featuring intuitive and simple interface. Samsung declares, “In an effort to further improve the smartwatch’s user capabilities, Samsung has partnered with additional developers to offer an expanded application ecosystem that complements multiple lifestyles.”
The wearable is the talking rage among Samsung fans who are still not aware of the exact price and launch date. Mashable, however, reports that the device will feature new watch faces complemented with watch’s gold and platinum case. Both platinum and gold versions of the device share same specs as the Gear S2 Classic with a similar case and rotating bezel.
As for now, there is no confirmation regarding the actual U.S. release date and price. Hence, Samsung fans will have to wait a little longer for the device to come to the market at a particular launch price.
