Samsung Galaxy S7 and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 Chips – both have been in the news for the right reasons. Whereas Samsung Galaxy S7 is rumored to be one of the best devices manufactured by Samsung till date, Snapdragon 820 can be one of Qualcomm’s most powerful chips today. So are the two products coming together?


If the story published by South Korea’s Electronic Times is to be believed, Samsung will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chips for its upcoming smartphone, Galaxy S7. That’s the good news! But only citizens of United States and China should rejoice, as this phone will be introduced to other markets with the company’s very own Exynos processor. The publication mentioned that they received the news from industry sources.

Why is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 a big deal?

Snapdragon 820 chips are said to be bringing DSLR-quality smartphone cameras. Not just that – it will also boost your device’s battery life. Even now, professional photographers use smartphones to freeze moments, but with phones specifically designed for professional photography, the results are going to be better than what we get now.

While speaking about Snapdragon 820, Tim Leland, vice president, product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. has said, “We’re significantly enhancing the visual processing capabilities of Snapdragon to support next-generation user experiences related to computational photography, computer vision, virtual reality and photo-realistic graphics on mobile devices, all while maximizing battery life.”

JK Shin has admitted that the company is looking forward to use Qualcomm’s products for its next set of devices. He said that that company wants to use the best engines to make their products competitive so they may use Snapdragon 820 for the next Galaxy phone.
