Smartphone el classico as the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 goes head to head with the Apple iPhone 6s Plus. This time it’s battery life as we get to see Asian efficiency go against American ingenuity in this clash of civilizations, err phones.
The Note 7 seems to be the most efficient one yet in the whole line of Galaxy notes. Even more so than its ancestors the Note 4 and Note 5, which to be honest weren’t running the same high spec processors.
According to Phone Arena, testing the latest Galaxy Note was a bit tricky. They had to make their own benchmarks to test it and voila came up with pretty reliable results.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Getting Top Scores For Battery Longevity
The results reveal that Samsung has been steadily increasing the Note’s battery life with each new release. This culminated in the Galaxy Note 7 which lasted an impressive 9 hours and 49 minutes of simulated real-life usage.
But how does this stack up against its greatest rival for the foreseeable future, and by future we mean the next 3-4 weeks. After undergoing the same test the iPhone 6s Plus just barely passed the 9 hour mark with 9 hours and 11 minutes.
Apparently Asian efficiency even applies to phone batteries as the Note 7 outlasts the iPhone 6s Plus by 7 percent longer. This puts the iPhone at par with Note 7’s granddaddy the Galaxy Note 5. Other phones were tested to see how they do against each other. Still there has yet to be a phone that can outlast the Galaxy Note 7 in battery life.
It should be noted that the Samsung flagship model also beat the Apple iPhone 6s Plus in a drop test. The tough Korean-made device was still functioning despite suffering 50 1-meter high drops.
In the end though, this match up of the Galaxy Note 7 and iPhone 6s Plus will be forgotten later on down the road. The thing about smartphones is, there’s always a new one just around the corner with better specs and hopefully better battery life.
