After several months of rumors and leaks, Samsung has officially released the Galaxy J7 (2016) and J5 (2016) in China. Users can find both devices listed on the company’s Chinese website.
The predecessors to the phones, Galaxy J7 (2015) and J5 (2015), were released last year with a number of great features. The new releases this year, however, offer a number of improvements on the previous devices, states Android Authority.
GSM Arena notes that the Galaxy J7 is the most powerful of the two, packing boastful features. It has a 5.5-inch full HD display Super AMOLED display screen and measures 151.7 x 76 x 7.8mm. It weighs a mere 170 grams and is powered by an octa-core 1.6GHz processor.
Under the hood, the phone has 3GB RAM and has 16GB expandable memory. The phone also packs in 3300mAH battery. Camera features are equally competitive, with the handset featuring a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. Added features are LTE connectivity and NFC capabilities.
The Galaxy J5, on the other hand, has a smaller screen size, a 5.2-inch HD Super AMOLED display screen. The phone measures 145.8 x 72.3 x 8.1mm and weighs 159 grams. As for the camera, the J5 flaunts a 13MP rear shooter and a 5MP front sensor. Powered by 1.2Ghz processor, the device has 2GB RAM with 16GB of expandable memory. The battery has 3100 mAH.
The Indian Express notes that the J7 and J5 will be launched in India on March 31. Samsung recently made headlines when reports came out suggesting the South Korean company is introducing a new Bike Mode feature on its J3 model.
An advertisement circulated in the media shows Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor, with the phone. The caption reads, “Watch out for the new smartphone that will change the way you ride.”
