Samsung Expected to Announce Galaxy Note 4 at September 3rd Event
Samsung has begun sending out invites for an event the company is calling “Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 2” that’s scheduled to happen on September 3 and the invite is obviously teasing a probable Galaxy Note 4 reveal at the event with the invite showing the iconic control dial from Samsung’s Galaxy Note line of devices and a tagline that says “Ready? Note the date!”
This is the second Unpacked event of the year with the first one happening during the Mobile World Congress earlier this year wherein the company unveiled the Galaxy S5 smartphone, Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches, and the Gear Fit.
This second Unpacked event will happen during the annual IFA event in Berlin with simultaneous events also happening in Beijing and New York. The event will also be livestreamed on Samsung’s YouTube channel at 15:00 CEST. Notably, IFA is where Samsung also unveiled the previous Galaxy Note devices including the Galaxy Note 3 last year and the Galaxy Note 2 in 2012.
The Galaxy Note 4 was previously reported to have a 5.7-inch Quad HD display (1,440 x 2,560) which is the same size as what the Note 3 has as well as some of the features of the Galaxy S5 including water resistance and a fingerprint scanner. It is also rumored that the new device will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and support for fourth-generation LTE technology.
There are also rumors that the Note 4 will come in two variants – one with a Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor with an Adrendo 420 GPU, and another with an Exynos 5433 octa-core processor with an ARM Mali-T760 GPU. As for the rest of its specs, it’s rumored that the Note 4 will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
