Hillary Clinton claimed that Russian president Vladimir Putin is trying to get Donald Trump elected.
On Monday, the Democratic presidential candidate stated an extremely serious concern regarding Russia’s apparent interference with the U.S. elections. The statement came from the former First Lady during her first press conference in 275 days.
According to Politico, Clinton was on the maiden voyage of her Boeing 737 “Stronger Together” campaign plane when she told reporters her concern about the news that the Russian government is tampering with the U.S. elections. The campaign plane will be shared by the Democratic nominee and her press corps for the final months before the election period.
“The fact that our intelligence professionals are now studying this, and taking it seriously,” the former First Lady began, “raises some grave questions about potential Russian interference with our electoral process.”
It was earlier reported that Putin claimed that the hacking of Democratic Party servers was nothing but public service. Jesse Lehrich, the Democratic nominee’s spokesperson, said that Putin is associated with Trump and was attempting to interfere in the U.S. election.
According to Lehrich, the Russian operation was designed to impose political damage on the Democratic presidential candidate and Democrats. He added that this is a serious issue, thus American citizens deserve to know about the potential link between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin, as reported by Morning News USA.
The former secretary of state talked to almost 40 journalists who traveled with her. She told them that it was unpredictable how a foreign power like Russia would interfere in the electoral process. More shocking was the hacking of the Democratic National Committee, which was disclosed in July.
“We’ve never had the nominee of one of our major parties urging the Russians to hack more,” Hillary Clinton said.
