Reese Witherspoon celebrated her 40th birthday with friends and music at Warwick in Hollywood. Her A-list guest list made her day extra special, but “Blank Space” singer Taylor Swift giving her a private concert probably took the cake!
Reese made sure that turning 40 feels like a blast for her and her close friends. Throwing a star-studded party, her birthday becomes more memorable with Swift singing for her. The Grammy-winning singer sang “Shake It Off” with Keith Urban, as reported by Hollywood Life.
Reese’s guests went wild with the special rendition of the hit performed by the artist. According to Us Magazine, Kate Hudson, Jennifer Aniston, Chelsea Handler, Matthew McConaughey, Robert Downey Jr., Justin Theroux, Courteney Cox, Isla Fisher, Conan O’Brien, Chris Martin, Tobey Maguire and many more made Reese happy. Hudson captured all the fun and shared it on her Instagram. She posted a photograph on Instagram (see below).
In exchange for making her feel special, Witherspoon also made her guests feel loved by singing for them herself. The actress sang “Sweet Home Alabama” to her guests, which garnered her a video applause from Vanity Fair. The magazine took a video of Reese’s performance and uploaded this on their Instagram. The video came with a sweet caption, “You can take the girl out the South, but you can’t take Sweet Home Alabama out the girl! HAPPY BIRTHDAY.”
Witherspoon and Swift are known to be great allies. While they do not necessarily hang out all the time, they are supporters of one another. When Swift shared her female empowering speech back at the Grammy’s, Witherspoon was one of the firsts to laud her for it. “Loved your amazing words!” Witherspoon tweeted. “Keep encouraging all those young women to write their stories [and] sing their songs #Grammys.”
