Miss Universe Haiti has just crowned Raquel Pelissier as its 2016 winner.


Who is this newly-crowned beauty queen from the Caribbean country?

As she is set to try her luck in bringing home the crown, more fans of the beauty pageant might have gotten curious about her background.

Based on the details shared by the Haiti Sentinel, 24-year-old Miss Universe Haiti 2016 Raquel Pelissier has so much to offer.

Aside from holding a Master’s Degree in Scientific Research, the “active and determined young woman” is also capable of speaking different languages.

“Quadrilingual, determined and active, I love my country,” she reportedly said. “Ayiti se fyète m, li dwe fyète nou tout pou sa chanje.”

According to Missosology, these languages include English, French, Spanish, Haitian Creole and German.

In terms of height, she is also a winner, as she stands at 1.81 meters.

Apart from completing her Master’s, Miss Universe Haiti 2016 Raquel Pelissier already graduated from Optometry. During the pageant night at the Royal Oasis by Occidental Hotels Grand Ballroom on Saturday evening, the reigning Miss Universe Haiti 2016 also took home the Miss Popular title.

She is the successor of Lisa Drouillard.

To complete the court of Miss Universe Haiti 2016, Cassandre Joseph was crowned Miss International Haiti 2016, Armelle Rose Williams emerged as the 1st runner up, Danourah Bien-aimé as 2nd runner, and Pierrie Ganaelle Toussaint 3rd runner.

Meanwhile, Dorothy Jean emerged as Miss Photogenic and Edith Elbrena as Miss Friendly. The newly-crowned Miss Universe Haiti 2016 is set to fly to the Philippines in January 2017 to join the 65th Miss Universe pageant on Jan. 30.
