Queen Maxima of the Netherlands looked relaxed and happy at the annual summer photoshoot of the Dutch royal family on Friday.
The 45-year-old looked stunning in the pictures though she was diagnosed with concussion the same week. The royal suffered a fall in Wassenaar in unexplained circumstances on July 1.
Queen Maxima was joined by her husband King Willem-Alexander and their three daughters for the summer photoshoot, People reports. She looked stunning in brown flared top and loose trousers. The top featured short sleeves, a flared and tiered detail near the waist, which perfectly showed off her tall and slender frame.
However, the high point of her ensemble was her accessories. Known for her love of wide brimmed hats, the stylish Queen Maxima accessorized with an oversize floral necklace. She also wore bracelets, watch and drop earrings, while her long blonde hair was left loose in a side part.
Queen Maxima’s daughters Princess Catharina-Amalia, 12, Princess Alexia, 11, and Princess Ariane, nine looked adorable in their summery and colorful dresses. Her husband Willem, 49, color coordinated with daughter Alexia in a navy suit, white shirt and blue jeans. Alexia opted for a sleeveless navy and white dotted dress.
Her younger sister wore a red dress paired with white jacket. Heir apparent Amalia sprained her ankle and used crutches. She wore a pale blue dress for the family portraits.
It’s really good to see the Queen in such a relaxed and healthy state.
It can be remembered that it was not known whether Maxima would take part in the family portrait due to her concussion. But she made her first public appearance since being advised to take rest by doctors after being diagnosed with concussion, Hello reports.
“She’s been suffering from concussion for five days. She needs peace and quiet to make a speedy recovery,” said the Dutch monarch speaking to reporters on July 4.
Maxima also welcomed a visiting Greek delegation on an official two-day visit on the same day and showed no signs of ill health. However, doctors advised her to cancel all engagements and to rest after she complained of headaches and discomfort.
The Dutch royal family participates in two photoshoots every year with the media. The annual photoshoots was established as part of a media code in 2005. The royals pose for photos once in the summer and again at the beginning of their skiing holiday, and in return the media respects their privacy outside of royal engagements.
