A few months ago, Rising Star Games announced that Assault Suit Leynos will soon become playable on PS4. Now, the UK-based game publisher has shared more details on what fans can expect from the upcoming console version of the classic side-scrolling shooter.
In a recent post on PlayStation Blog, Rising Star spokesperson Lee Skittrell said the game will feature improved graphics, extended levels, smarter AI enemies and fully voice-acted cut scenes.
There’s also something in it for nostalgic players. The PS4 version of Assault Suit Leynos will include a Classic mode in which players can experience the authentic gameplay and effects of the popular 1990 arcade game.
“For newcomers, Assault Suit Leynos provides a rewarding learning curve,” Skittrell assured. “With patience and proficiency, you’ll begin to make headway into the game in no time, discovering your favorite weapon loadouts to choose for the mission, and enjoying the game’s climactic set pieces and anime sci-fi story.”
July will also see the release of Neverwinter on PS4. The third-person MMORPG has already released on Microsoft Windows and Xbox One in 2013 and 2015, respectively.
In Neverwinter, players take on the role of one of eight Dungeons & Dragons character classes. Teams are composed of up to five player characters. Players can accumulate action points in every battle so they can perform special skills and abilities.
Perfect World Entertainment director Alex Monney revealed on the official PlayStation blogsite that the PS4 version of Neverwinter will feature all nine expansions to the base game, with the tenth expansion currently underway.
The Xbox One version of Neverwinter received a 7.3 out of 10 rating on IGN. Video game reviewer Leif Johnson praised the game for its intuitive interface and controller-friendly combat system.
Johnson called the game the best fantasy MMORPG he’s ever played on a console yet. Let’s just wait and see if it can deliver the same magic on PS4.
