The Spanish royals are currently enjoying their summer holiday in Mallorca. The family-of-four is at the Marivent Palace on the island of Mallorca for their annual summer holiday.
King Felipe and Queen Letizia along with their daughters Princesses Leonor and Sofia posed for a photocall. Unlike the other European royals who are in Rio for the 2016 Olympics Games, the royal couple is taking some time off for themselves.
The foursome was casually dressed for the occasion. The 43-year-old queen and her daughters opted for nautical themed outfits, Daily Mail reports.
Letizia was summer chic in a white crop trousers and a Breton-striped top (a favorite of Crown Princess Mary and Kate Middleton). Her younger daughter Sofia, nine, drew inspiration from her mum, and wore a striped black and white dress.
Leonor, the first-in-line to the throne, wore a smart white dress with black trims and matching belt. The summer photoshoot of the Spanish royals was relaxed and all of them looked happy.
The annual summer break gives some downtime to Letizia to relax. Otherwise the Spanish royal is usually seen in sharply-tailored suits, fitted dresses and towering heels.
The queen, who is a former journalist, is constantly in the news for her thin figure. Previously, many times there was fear among fans that she may not be well.
This time for the photoshoot, Letizia ditched her sky high heels and opted for a more comfortable flat style. She wore a pair of beaded strappy sandals.
The Spanish royals arrived at their summer palace on the Balearic Island last week. Felipe and Letizia also waved off their national Olympics team at a Madrid airport before they went for their break.
The Spanish royals had a family reunion in Mallorca. Felipe, Letizia and the princesses were joined by King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia, Felipe’s older sister Infanta Elena and her two teenage children Victoria and Felipe, Hello reports.
The group dined out in style, choosing to eat at King Juan Carlos’ favorite restaurant Flanigan. However, Felipe’s sister Princess Cristina was absent from the dinner, as she is facing trial on charges of fraud since January.
She has been stripped of her dukedom by Felipe. She was the Duchess of Palma, a title she received from their father, Juan Carlos I, when she married in 1997.
She is the first Spanish royal to be put on trial. The 50-year-old faces eight years in jail if found guilty by a panel of three judges in Majorca.
